This past Saturday was one of those days that make New York special. The CBGB Festival closed down 9 blocks of Times Square to celebrate punk rock, and the NY Comic Con took over the Javits Center and midtown with incredible costumes and personalities.
Here are a few snapshots I took while running around to the different events on Saturday.
And what would New York be without its celebrities, especially on a weekend packed with events? Here are just a few of my sightings: Run-D.M.C. co-founder Darryl McDaniels flew through the halls of the Javits Center with his entourage in tow promoting his new company Darryl Makes Comics. Actor Willem Dafoe rocked out to Arto Lindsay at the Bowery Electric. Singer Alison Mosshart of The Kills got friendly with Jakob Dylan of The Wallflowers (Bob Dylan’s son) at the bar I was at while Jim James of My Morning Jacket stood nearby reminding me of a better-looking Hagrid from Harry Potter.
Oh, New York. I love you so.
